The Saints and Oil Barons battled it out for the final time this regular season as each team looks to gain momentum heading into playoffs. The Saints will also look to tie the season series as Fort McMurray as won 3 out of 5 games so far. Spruce Grove is currently on a 7-game win streak and they are going to finish 1st place in the North. The Oil Barons are still battling the Pontiacs for 2nd place as they sit just 3 points up on Bonnyville.

Neither team would find the back of the net until Dylan Clark would shovel in the rebound to put the Oil Barons up 1-0 with 3 minutes left in the frame. The Saints would trail on the scoreboard but would lead 9-7 in shots after 20 minutes of play.

Jaden Senkoe would then fire the puck top shelf with 3 minutes remaining in the period to put the Saints up 3-1. The Saints would also lead on the shot clock 24-13 after 2 periods of play.

The Saints would dominate puck possession through the first 10 minutes of the period but couldn’t find the net. Brett Pfoh would be the one to score for the Saints half way through the frame, getting around the Oil Barons goaltender. Jaden Senkoe would then bury the puck off a rebound for his 2nd goal of the game to give the Saints a 5-1 lead with 4 minutes remaining in the game. The Saints would hold on to win their final home game of this regular season and extend their win streak to 8 games.
