The Spruce Grove Saints suffered their first preseason loss as they fell to the Camrose Kodiaks by a final score of 6-2.
Halfway through the first period, Hunter Bill (Green Bay, WI) got one off the rebound to open the scoring. Then, with less than two minutes left in the frame, Spencer Masters scored to tie the game at one.
The middle frame contained three goals from the Kodiaks in the opening three minutes. To start off the scoring, Lucas Lemieux put one home to give Camrose a one-goal lead. Less than a minute later, Oliver Gabrielson scored to put the Kodiaks up 3-1. Ten seconds later, Rhett Miller got one to end the period with Camrose leading 4-1.
Early into the final frame, Bradley Gallo (Sturgeon County, AB) put one on the net to cut the score in half. Soon after, Mason Svarich scored to take back the Kodiaks’ three-goal lead. Less than thirty seconds later, Carson Brisson got one to put Camrose up 6-2.
The Kodiaks would go on to defeat the Saints in a 6-2 conclusion.
