Saints Sign Willem Terwoord

(Spruce Grove, AB) – Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced today the club has signed 18-year-old defenceman Willem Terwoord.

Terwoord, who hails from Salmo, British Columbia, was a member of the Cranbrook Bucks of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) for the 2022-23 season.

Standing 6’3”, 205 lbs, the former RINK Academy, left shot defenceman brings size and dependability to the Saints blueline.

General Manager Rob Sklaruk touched on the reasons for bringing in Terwoord, saying “Our staff believes Willem has the ability to be an impactful defenceman in our league. We like his size and compete level, mixed with his skating ability. He has the makings of being a real solid all-around defencemen.”

The Saints would like to welcome Willem and the entire Terwoord family our organization.

Terwoord is expected to make his Saints debut tonight when the Saints host the Lloydminster Bobcats at the Grant Fuhr Arena – Game time is 7:00 pm.
