Saints Sign Oakenfold For Upcoming 2022-2023 Season

(Spruce Grove, AB) – Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced today forward Carter Oakenfold has signed a Letter of Intent for the upcoming 2022-2023 season.

The 6’2″, 170lbs forward from Calgary, Alberta has spent the last four seasons with the Edge School Prep in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL), compiling 81 points (34 goals, 47 assists) through 100 games played.

Carter’s father Kevin had an impressive hockey career of his own, playing four seasons with the University of Alaska-Fairbanks before suiting up for over 50 games of professional hockey in the Central Hockey League (CHL).

Spruce Grove currently has one Edge School alumni on their roster with Notre Dame Fighting Irish commit Jayden Davis attending the Edge School for three seasons before joining the Saints.

General Manager Rob Sklaruk is pleased to add another big strong forward to his roster for next season saying, “Carter is a multi dimensional player who has tons of room to grow and develop within our program. He skates incredibly well and has a unique ability to control the play.”
