Saints Sign Kronewitt & Hunks to Start the Season

Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced today the club has signed forward Ethan Kronewitt and defenceman Liam Hunks.

Kronewitt, a local Stony Plain, Alberta product, joins the Saints for the upcoming campaign after playing two seasons in the Hockey Super League for Saints Pro Hockey Academy, and most recently one season for the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers in the Alberta Elite Hockey League U16AAA Division. During the 16-year-old’s time in the Hockey Super League, he played 50 games, tallying 94 points. Kronewitt sits at 5’9″, 161lbs.

Hunks, a native of Beaumont, Alberta, joins the Saints after spending the last two seasons with the Leduc Oil Kings Hockey Club where he totaled 38 games played, 8 points and 26 penalty minutes. The 17-year-old, left handed shot blueliner is listed at 5’11, 165lbs.

The Spruce Grove Saints opened the season last night with a 4-1 win over the Sherwood Park Crusaders. They will head to Sherwood Park tonight to conclude the opening weekend home and home series.
