Saints Sign Evan Sundar For Upcoming Season

(Spruce Grove, AB) – Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced today forward Evan Sundar has signed a Letter of Intent for the upcoming 2022-2023 season.

Sundar spent last season with the St. Albert Raiders U18 AAA program, compiling 51 points (24 goals and 27 assists) through 43 combined regular season and playoff games. In addition, Sundar was also affiliated to the Saints last season, appearing in nine regular season games, putting up one goal and three assists for four points. He scored his first career Alberta Junior Hockey League goal on December 14th, 2021, in a 7-4 win over the Whitecourt Wolverines.

The 2005-born forward is a native of St. Albert, Alberta and stands at 5’10″ and weighs 160lbs. The Sundar’s are no strangers to the Alberta Junior Hockey League, as Evan’s older brother Ethan spent three seasons with the Bonnyville Pontiacs, putting up 44 points through 89 career games played.

General Manager Rob Sklaruk is thrilled to add Sundar to the roster for the upcoming 2022-2023 season, saying, “Evan was probably one of the best players in the Alberta Elite Hockey League this past year. He possesses unbelievable skill, which allows him to put up consistent numbers. Sundar is a highly competitive individual who sees the ice in a different way. He is a quick, strong skater that is powerful on his edges. We are very excited to see Evan develop his game further as a member of the Spruce Grove Saints.”
