(Spruce Grove, AB) – Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced today defenseman Grant Fuchsen has been signed and added to the active roster for the current 2022-2023 season.
The Elmhurst, Illinois native started this season with the Aberdeen Wings in the North American Hockey League (NAHL), where he played three games. Prior to his time with the Wings, Fuchsen developed with Shattuck St. Mary’s in the U18 United States High School prep league (USHS-Prep).
Fuchsen, 5’11” and 198lbs, played two seasons of U18 USHS-Prep with Shattuck St. Mary’s, where he put up 16 points (3 goals, 13 assists) through 59 games played.
General Manager Rob Sklaruk spoke about the addition to the blueline, saying, “ We have been quietly looking for another left shot defenseman, when Grant became available, we decided to act. Grant has the maturity to play a calm defensive game, he checks well and has a fantastic stick. I am excited to have Grant join our group.”

The Saints are back at the Grant Fuhr Arena on Oct 21st and 22nd, when they face off against the Bonnyville Pontiacs and Whitecourt Wolverines, respectively.
