Saints Return To Win Column With 4-1 Win Over Wolverines

In a fast-paced game on Saturday night, the Spruce Grove Saints broke back into the win column with a 4-1 win over the Whitecourt Wolverines!

During the first period, the Saints and Wolverines created many opportunities in each other’s zones but were unable to capitalize, which resulted in a scoreless period.

Early into the second period, Ewan McPherson (Edmonton, AB) scored from an extremely sharp angle to put the Saints up by one. Ten minutes later, Alexander Babich (Chicago, Il) netted one home to increase the Saints’ lead by two. Soon after Babich’s goal, Chase Broda scored to put the Wolverines within one. Ethan Leyer (St.Albert, AB) then sniped one home to again put the Saints up by two.

Beginning the third period with a score of 3-1 Saints, the players on both teams were taking penalties left and right, which led to no scoring. However, late in the third, Isaac Abbott (Halifax, NS) scored to secure the Saints win with a final score of 4-1!
