SAINTS NAB KULAK AS FIRST RECRUIT FOR 2021-22 SEASON

(Spruce Grove, AB) ? Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced today 2004 born forward Brady Kulak has signed a letter of intent for the 2021-2022 season.

Kulak is a standout player for the Maple Leaf Athletic Club (MLAC) U18 team who compete in the Alberta Elite Hockey League (AEHL) ? formerly known as the Alberta Midget Hockey League (AMHL).

The 16 – year- old forward currently sits 2nd in team scoring and top 20 in AEHL scoring after compiling two goals, five assists and 17 penalty minutes in five games played this season.

 

Sklaruk praised the well-rounded game of the Edmonton, Alberta native and says, ?Brady is a character individual with strong leadership qualities. He possesses an explosive first step, good acceleration and plays the game fast. He brings a high level of compete every time he steps on the ice with a responsible two-way game playing in all three zones.?

Sklaruk continued, ?When you see a player who is willing to play a gritty style of game and still put up the offensive numbers he does, it?s an exciting combination to add our group. We are extremely pleased to add Brady to our organization.?

Listed at 5?9?and 165 pounds, the left shooting forward had a breakout campaign in 2019-20, when he tallied a whopping 27 goals, 42 assists and 60 penalty minutes in just 37 games with then Knights of Columbus Centennials U16 AAA team. His 57 points ranked him 4th in league scoring.

Saints Head Coach Bram Stephen gave his thoughts on the incoming recruit saying,?We are excited to have Brady join us next year. He?s a rare player to find these days in that he has a lot of skill and finish but more importantly plays the game with an incredible edge and energy. He?s one of those individuals that not only makes his line mates better, but his team as whole. Brady is going to be a noticeable player shift to shift for us and likely a fan favorite because of that.?
