Saints Drop Game 3 In Bonnyville, Setting Up Game 5 Back In Spruce Grove

The Spruce Grove Saints face off in Bonnyville against the Bonnyville Pontiacs in game three of the AJHL North Division Finals Tuesday night.

The Spruce Grove Saints fell to the Bonnyville Pontiacs by a final score of 4-1, forcing game five on Friday in Spruce Grove. 

The first period’s only goal belonged to Cole Hipkin, who scored a powerplay goal to give the Pontiacs a 1-0 lead. 

Fifteen seconds into the middle frame, Jack Budd put one home to give the Pontiacs a two-goal lead. A few minutes after Budds’ goal, Ludovik Tardif scored to put Bonnyville up by three. Then, halfway through the period, Ethan Leyer (St.Albert, AB) netted one home on the powerplay to give the Saints life. 

The final period contained end-to-end action. However, the only goal of the third frame belonged to Jack Budd, who scored the empty-netter to put the Pontiacs up 4-1. 

The Spruce Grove Saints dropped game three to the Bonnyville Pontiacs in a 4-1 conclusion.
