In a face-off between the Spruce Grove Saints and Grande Prairie Storm, the goaltenders took center stage, turning the game into a fierce battle between the pipes. Zac Onyskiw from Edmonton, AB, displayed exceptional goaltending skills, thwarting numerous scoring attempts from the Storm.
Despite the efforts, the game remained deadlocked at zero throughout regulation and overtime. The intensity escalated as the match ventured into a shootout, where each shot carried significant weight in determining the game’s outcome.
Keifer Miller, hailing from Banff, AB, broke the scoring silence in the opening round of the shootout. However, no other Saints players managed to get one past Nicholas Jones. Dylan Thorn and Dayne Tews found the back of the net against Onyskiw, securing a 1-0 victory for the Storm over the Saints.
