Saints Announce Rechner as New Associate Coach…

The Spruce Grove Saints are proud to announce the addition of Ryan Rechner as new Associate Coach.  Ryan will join the Saints coaching staff immediately. 

“We’re excited to welcome both Ryan and his girlfriend Arielle, to the Saints,” said Head Coach/General Manager Mike Ringrose. “He has a proven track record of successful coaching and developing athletes, and I look forward to working alongside him.”

Rechner, 30, is Edmonton born and Leduc raised. Ryan spent his entire playing career in Leduc from Tom Thumb to Junior. In his first season as the Head Coach of the Leduc Midget AAA Oil Kings Hockey Program, Ryan had a record of 14 wins 15 losses and 5 ties for 33 points, finishing 4th in the AMHL North Division regular season. The playoffs saw the Oil Kings defeat the CAC Canadians in the division quarterfinals before ultimately losing to the AMHL League Champion Lloydminster Bobcats in the Division Semifinals.

Ryan also was awarded the Glen Sather Award, as 2015-16 AMHL Coach of the Year, following the winning of the 2014-15 Coach of the Year in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League (AMBHL).

“I'm looking forward to the challenge coaching at the Jr. Level and the chance to be a contributor within an extremely well renowned organization,” said Rechner of joining the Saints. “I'm extremely excited for the opportunity to be a Spruce Grove Saint.”
