Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced today the team has acquired forward Jaden Senkoe from the Trail Smoke Eaters in exchange for a player development fee.
Senkoe joins the team after spending the last two seasons in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) with the Trail Smoke Eaters. Senkoe compiled 20 points (7 goals, 13 assists) through 74 games in the BCHL. Prior to his time with Trail, Senkoe developed at the Okanagan Hockey Academy in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) for six seasons, where is appeared in 127 games across multiple divisions, putting up 106 points.
The 6’2″, 187 lbs native of Westlock, Alberta is expected to join the team ahead of tomorrow’s matchup against the Blackfalds Bulldogs.
General Manager Sklaruk raved about his newest addition saying, “Jaden is a big, strong two-way centre who moves the pucks accurately and efficiently. He positions himself very well in the defensive zone and has great offensive instincts.”
The Spruce Grove Saints are on the road tonight in Camrose, taking on the Kodiaks at 7:00pm. The club is back on home ice tomorrow night at 7:00pm when they host the Blackfalds Bulldogs at the Grant Fuhr Arena for the first time in franchise history.
