SAINTS ACQUIRE LARKIN FROM THE NEPEAN RAIDERS OF THE CCHL

(Spruce Grove, AB) – Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced today the club has acquired defenseman Nicholas Larkin from the Nepean Raiders of the Central Canadian Hockey League (CCHL) in exchange for a Player Development Fee.

During his time in the CCHL, Larkin appeared in a total of 59 games with the Nepean Raiders, where he notched 11 goals, 20 assists, accumulating 31 points, and 66 penalty minutes.

Hailing from Nepean, Ontario, he earned a well-deserved spot on the CCHL’s All-Rookie Team following his outstanding performance last season. This left-handed defenseman stands at 6’0″ and weighs 180 pounds.

Before embarking on his junior career, the 18-year-old honed his skills with the Nepean Raiders U18AAA program for two seasons. During his tenure with the Raiders, Larkin showcased his abilities in 32 games, amassing an impressive 49 points, including 14 goals and 35 assists, while also accumulating 44 penalty minutes.

General Manager Rob Sklaruk spoke about the addition of Larkin to the roster saying “Securing Nicholas as a defenseman for the Spruce Grove Saints is a significant addition to our team. His exceptional skills on the blueline bring a new level of strength to our roster. I believe this is a strong pickup for our organization, and I am excited to see Larkin’s impact on the ice this season.”

The Saints would like to welcome Nicholas and the Larkin family to the organization.

The Saints head out for a four-game road trip tonight as they take on the Canmore Eagles, Olds Grizzlys, Drumheller Dragons and Lloydminster Bobcats before returning to home ice on October 6th for a Friday night tilt against the Camrose Kodiaks.
