Saints Acquire Gault From Sellkirk In Multiple Team Deal

Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced today the club has acquired the CJHL playing rights of forward Caiden Gault from the Selkirk Steelers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL).

After acquiring 2002-born forward Matthew Gerke from the Bonnyville Pontiacs (AJHL), Spruce Grove then traded Gerke to the Selkirk Steelers (MJHL) in exchange for Gault.

Gault, a native of Oakbank, Manitoba was on loan from the Selkirk Steelers last season due to the shutdown of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Gault now officially joins the Saints for the upcoming 2021-2022 campaign.

Gault played 16 games last season for the Saints, where he put up nine points (4G, 5A) along with 24 penalty minutes.

General Manager Rob Sklaruk says, “We were lucky enough to have Caiden join us for last season’s return to play. During that time he really impressed the organization and we wanted to make bringing Caiden back one of our top priorities in the offseason.”

The Alberta Junior Hockey League has announced their calendar of events for the upcoming 2021-2022 season and an official schedule announcement is expected in the next couple months.
