(Spruce Grove, AB) – Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced today goaltender Ryan De Kok has signed a Letter of Intent for the upcoming 2023-2024 season.
The Lethbridge, Alberta native plays with Lethbridge United in the Junior Prospects Hockey League’s (JPHL) U18 Division. De Kok has appeared in 16 games this season going 7-7-0, while posting a 2.78 GAA and a 0.920 save percentage. Lethbridge currently sits in 2nd place in the JPHL’s Alberta U18 Division.
The 2005-born goaltender, who is listed at 6’0” and 185lbs, has a cool, calm and collected attitude to his game. He challenges shooters well, cuts down angles, and makes key saves at big moments of games. He has the ability to provide his team with the opportunity to win each night.
General Manager Rob Sklaruk spoke about signing the highly touted goaltender saying, “Ryan has impressed the Saints organization this season and is one of the top goaltenders in the Junior Prospects Hockey League. He is big in stature, extremely strong on his skates and possesses a unique skill when it comes to playing the puck. I am looking forward to seeing Ryan in a Saints uniform next season.”

The Spruce Grove Saints are currently first in the AJHL North Division, with a record of 41-7-2. The Saints need just one more point to clinch the AJHL North Division. The Spruce Grove Saints are getting ready to head to Fort McMurray for a two-game road trip against the Oil Barons this weekend. The Saints return to home ice next Friday, when they once again take on the Oil Barons.
