(Spruce Grove, AB) – Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced today 2004 born forward Cody Pisarczyk has signed a letter of intent for the 2021-2022 season.
Pisarczyk, a member of the Aidrie CFR Bisons U18 team, compete in the Alberta Elite Hockey League (AEHL) – formerly known as the Alberta Midget Hockey League (AMHL).
Pisarczyk was an unknow commodity heading into Saints main camp this past fall, but he had a tremendous camp and impressed Sklaruk and the coaching staff.
Sklaruk says, “Cody plays the game with pace, makes plays with his head up and has good vision. He is not a player that tries fancy stuff, (he) keeps it simple, but is a very effective player in all three zones.” Sklaruk also says, “Cody is a high energy competitor who does something to get your attention every shift.”
The 16-year-old forward currently sits tied for 1st in team scoring and top 20 in AEHL scoring after compiling two goals, five assists and six penalty minutes in five games played this season.
Head Coach Bram Stephen was pleased to see the Saints add Pisarczyk to the fold.
“Cody’s character and desire to play hockey is second to none. He’s got so much pop in his personality and that translates to his on-ice play. He’s an exciting player and we are looking forward to having him in a Saints uniform.”
The Saints would like to welcome Cody and the entire Pisarczyk family to the organization.
