Pisani, Lang Score First Career AJHL Goals, Saints Down Kodiaks 4-3 In A Shootout

Teo Pisani of Sturgeon County, AB, and Adam Lang from Sherwood Park, AB, each notched their inaugural AJHL goals as the Saints prevailed over the Kodiaks 4-3 after a thrilling shootout!

Just 47 seconds into the game, Carson Brisson got things going by giving the Kodiaks a 1-0 lead. Pisani responded a few minutes later with his first goal of the night, equalizing the score at 1-1.

Lang later achieved his long-anticipated first AJHL goal early in the middle frame, granting the Saints a 2-1 advantage. Two minutes after, Garrett Thom redirected one into the net, leveling the score at 2-2. With only a few minutes remaining in the period, Oliver Gabrielson capitalized on a powerplay opportunity, putting the Kodiaks ahead 3-2.

Approaching the end of the final period, Pisani delivered once again, securing his second goal of the night and forcing the game into overtime.

However, overtime didn’t yield a victor, setting the stage for a seven-round shootout. It was Ryan Johnston from Pickering, ON, who sealed the deal with the game-winning shot!

In the end, the Saints triumphed over the Kodiaks with a final score of 4-3 in a hard-fought contest.
