The Spruce Grove Saints are proud to announce Parker Mackay as team captain for the 2014/2015 season.
In a breakout season last year, Mackay excelled in his second season with the Saints, leading the team in scoring. In 57 games, Parker had 21 goals, 37 assists for 58 points and 107 PIMS.
“Parker was a natural decision for the coaching staff. He plays with passion, detail and dedication,” states Head Coach Jason McKee. “He is the perfect choice for what we are trying to accomplish here in Spruce Grove. I know Parker will do a great job of leading our team next year, while trying to achieve our goals for the 2014-15 season.”
“It's obviously a great honour to be named captain for any team, but to be a captain for the Spruce Grove Saints, I can't explain how honoured I am,” says MacKay, who is entering his third and final season with the Saints. “There is such a great history of leaders in the organization. To be listed with them is a huge boost of confidence. I would like to thank the Saints organization for this opportunity. I am excited to take on this role, and look forward to the upcoming season in Spruce Grove.”
