Myrol Inks Letter of Intent with Saints

(Spruce Grove, AB) ? The Spruce Grove Saints are proud to announce that 2002 born forward Carter Myrol has signed a letter of intent for the 2019-2020 season.

The Northern Alberta Xtreme Midget Prep forward signs with the Saints in the wake of NAX teammates Logan Lorenz and Ethan Edwards signing with team, who join current Saints Nick Leyer, Jaxsen Wyatt, and Bruce MacGregor from the Xtreme to the Saints.

Head Coach/Assistant GM Bram Stephen was very impressed with how Myrol showed at the Saints recent spring camp, making him a top prioroty for the Saints to get signed on the dotted line.

?Carter had an excellent spring camp and really set himself apart from the pack by his play. He was noticeable every session, seizing the opportunity that was in front of him. It was a strong testament to his character, which is something that is very high on our list of must haves in our players.? Stephen continued.

?Carter is an intelligent and versatile forward who has a high compete level at both ends of the rink. For a 17-year-old he has a big frame, but he moves well on the ice, has soft hands and keen offensive instincts. He has the potential to be a very impactful player as he progresses in his development. We are happy he has chosen to be a Saint.?

Standing 6?0? and 170 lbs. the Edmonton, AB native tallied 12 goals, 16 assists and 8 penalty minutes placing 8th in team scoring in 34 CSSHL contests for the NAX prep team last season.

General Manager Rob Sklaruk sees the making of a power forward building in Myrols game

?Carter?s size and the way in which he is starting to utilize it is trending in a direction that would place him in the power forward category in our league. Our staff believes that his puck protection skills and will to take the puck to the net in the offensive zone will lead to success at our level. These are a few of the many reasons we wanted him to be a Saint.? Exclaimed Sklaruk.

?He has soft hands for a big guy with the ability to make smart plays when he has the puck. Carter has deceptive speed, with a strong skating foundation. We are excited with the attributes and work ethic that he possesses. I look forward to seeing how he continues in his development as player in a Saints uniform next season.? Sklaruk finished.

The Saints would like to welcome Carter and his family to the Saints.
