Morgan Brady Puts Up 3 Points As The Saints Down The Thunder 7-2

In a game where Morgan Brady put up one goal and two assists, the Spruce Grove Saints dominated the Drayton Valley Thunder in a 7-2 victory! 

The first period quickly started off with Leyer heading to the box for a tripping penalty, soon after that, Cabana headed to the box for goalie interference. While the Saints were killing the penalties, Miller got an opportunity to net one home and ended up scoring unassisted to put the Saints up by one.

After Drayton Valley successfully killed off the Saints’ powerplay, Matthew Strilets scored to tie the game at one-a-piece. Three minutes after Strilets’ goal, McKinley scored a powerplay goal to put the Saints up by one. Within a minute of McKinley’s goal, Babich took advantage of a turnover to increase the Saints lead to 3-1. 

Entering the second period with the Saints leading 3-1, Issac Suppin scored to put Drayton Valley within one. Four minutes after Suppins’ goal, Pisarczyk scored one top shelf to put the Saints back ahead by two. The Saints would lead the Thunder 4-2 after 40 minutes of play.

Thirty seconds into the third period, Brady tipped the puck in for an unassisted marker to increase the Saints lead by three. Soon after, Geoff Bjarnason headed to the box for roughing after the whistle; this allowed Watkins to score early into the powerplay and to put the Saints up by a score of 6-2 halfway through the 3rd period. Benincasa would snipe one on net to lift the Saints to a final score of 7-2! 

The Spruce Grove Saints procured a win against the Drayton Valley Thunder by a score of 7-2; by doing so, they increased their win streak to eight in a row and remained undefeated on home ice.

The Saints are back at home on Oct 21st and 22nd, when they face off against the Bonnyville Pontiacs and Whitecourt Wolverines respectively.
