Miller, Babich Each Score Two, Saints Down Kodiaks 5-1

Alexander Babich of Chicago, IL, and Kiefer Miller from Banff, AB, each netted a pair of goals in an impressive performance last night, propelling the Saints to a commanding 5-1 victory over the Kodiaks!

The Saints asserted their dominance in the first period, maintaining relentless pressure in the offensive zone. Despite their efforts, they couldn’t solve Charlie Zolin, and the scoreboard remained empty after the initial 20 minutes.

The second period was a thrilling spectacle, witnessing three goals from the Saints and one from the Kodiaks. Early in the second frame, Stephen Kirkpatrick from Edmonton, AB, broke the deadlock, giving the Saints a 1-0 advantage. A few moments later, Miller capitalized on a powerplay, securing his first goal of the night and extending Spruce Grove’s lead to two goals. However, with just four minutes remaining in the period, Oliver Gabrielson narrowed the gap for the Kodiaks. As the second period was about to conclude, Miller stunned everyone by scoring a buzzer-beater, reestablishing the Saints’ two-goal lead!

The third period belonged to Alexander Babich, who showcased his prowess with two goals. A mere two minutes into the final frame, Babich notched a short-handed goal, pushing the Saints ahead 4-1.
