The Saints asserted their dominance in the first period, maintaining relentless pressure in the offensive zone. Despite their efforts, they couldn’t solve Charlie Zolin, and the scoreboard remained empty after the initial 20 minutes.
The second period was a thrilling spectacle, witnessing three goals from the Saints and one from the Kodiaks. Early in the second frame, Stephen Kirkpatrick from Edmonton, AB, broke the deadlock, giving the Saints a 1-0 advantage. A few moments later, Miller capitalized on a powerplay, securing his first goal of the night and extending Spruce Grove’s lead to two goals.
