Kirkpatrick Scores Loan Goal, Saints Fall 3-1 To Bobcats

After losing last night’s game to the Bobcats in a 3-1 conclusion, the Saints drop to 4-5-0 on the season.

Halfway through the first period, Blake Setter opened the scoring to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead. Soon after, Setter got his second of the night to put Lloydminster up by two.

The second period’s only goal was courtesy of Stephen Kirkpatrick (Edmonton, AB), who put one home halfway through the frame to bring the Saints within one!

The final frame was nothing short of frustrating for the Saints and their fans. With a five-on-three powerplay, Trey Fechko (Vernon Hills, IL) sniped one home to tie the game. Unfortunately, the referees called the goal off as a Saints player was in the goaltender’s crease. A few minutes later, Kade Fendelet scored the empty-netter to win the game 3-1 for the Lloydminster Bobcats.
