Johnstone Nets A Pair, Team Blue Defeats Team White 4-3

In this year’s annual Team Blue vs. Team White game, Ryan Johnstone (Pickering, ON) scored a pair to win the game 4-3 for Team Blue.

The first period was a battle of the goaltenders as neither team were able to score a single goal; both Ryan De Kok (Lethbridge, AB) and Zac Onyskiw (Edmonton, AB) remained solid in their respective nets.

Headed into the second period scoreless, Jack Drake (Calgary, AB) opened the scoring to put team white up 1-0. Soon after Drake’s goal, Johnstone netted one home to tie the game at one. A few minutes later, Joshua Polak (Calgary, AB) scored to put Team Blue up 2-1. Then, near the end of the middle frame, Adam Lang (Sherwood Park, AB) put one home to give Team Blue a two-goal lead.

With Team Blue leading 3-1 in the final frame, team white was determined to tie the game up. Early into the third period, Drake scored his second of the night to bring team white within one. Quickly after Drake’s goal, Ryder Matter (Beaumont, AB) put one in the net to tie the game at three. Then, with just a few minutes left in the game, Johnstone scored his second goal to put Team Blue up 4-3.

In an evenly matched game, Team Blue ended up defeating Team White by a final score of 4-3.
