Hutchinson Scores Loan Goal, Saints Fall 3-1 To Drumheller

In a game between the Spruce Grove Saints and the Drumheller Dragons, Ashton Hutchinson from St. Albert, AB, netted the only goal. The final score ended in favor of the Drumheller Dragons at 3-1.

The first period witnessed a total of 20 shots on goal, yet neither team managed to find the back of the net.

In the middle of the second period, Vann Yuhas broke the deadlock, granting the Dragons a 1-0 advantage. Towards the end of the period, Adam Raesler capitalized on a powerplay opportunity, extending Drumheller’s lead to two goals. The Saints found themselves with a 5-on-3 powerplay opportunity as the period concluded amidst some physical play.

Just fifty seconds into the third period, Hutchinson converted on the powerplay to narrow the gap for the Saints. Regrettably, they couldn’t muster any more goals during the game. With less than two minutes remaining in the contest, Beckett Langkow from Vegreville, AB, was pulled from the net in a bid to level the score. However, the Saints fell short of finding the equalizer, as Luke McPhee secured an empty-net goal, sealing the Dragons’ 3-1 victory.
