Game 4 Proves To Be Highly Entertaining, But The Saints Fall Just Short In Overtime

With a 2-1 loss to the Brooks Bandits in last night’s game, the Spruce Grove Saints are down 3-1 in the AJHL final series.

Halfway through the first period, Brendan Poshak opened the scoring to put the Bandits up by one. Then, with three minutes left in the frame, Luigi Benincasa (Edmonton, AB) put one home off of a breakaway to tie the game.

The tight-checking game remained tied at one throughout the middle period.

The final period also solved nothing as both goalies stood on their heads; the game was destined for overtime. Early into the extra-time, Hughie Hooker scored off of a deflection from the boards.

In an intensely tight game, the Saints fell in game four to the Bandits by a final score of 2-1
