Former Saint Reid Schaefer Drafted 32rd Overall By The Edmonton Oilers

(Spruce Grove, AB) – The Edmonton Oilers selected former Spruce Grove Saint forward Reid Schaefer with the 32nd-overall selection in the 2022 NHL Draft.

The Spruce Grove, AB product played 38 games for the Saints in 2019-2020, during that time he compiled 6 goals, 16 points and 32 penalty minutes.

Schaefer is coming off his first full season in the WHL where he recorded 32 goals and 58 points in 66 regular season games before posting a further 21 points in 25 playoff games as the Thunderbirds were defeated in the WHL Final by the Edmonton Oil Kings.

The 18-year-old left-shot left-winger stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs 214 pounds.
