Trey Fechko (Raritan, NJ) got two points as the Spruce Grove Saints took down the Drayton Valley Thunder by a final score of 3-2!
Early into the first period, Brody Spencer-Ha opened the scoring with a powerplay goal to give the Thunder a 1-0 lead.
The middle frame collectively contained seven penalties; both teams had many man-advantage opportunities. The period remained a back-and-forth battle up until the final minute when Trey Fechko scored to tie the game at one!
Three minutes into the final period, Ben Winkelmann put one home to again take the lead for Drayton Valley. Soon after, Ryan Johnstone (Pickering, ON) scored a beautiful goal to tie the game at 2-2. Then, nearing the end of the game, Bradley Gallo (Sturgeon County, AB) got the game-winning goal (which also happened to be his first AJHL goal)!
The Saints then defeated the Thunder in a 3-2 conclusion!
