In a game where Brophy Dunne (Prince George, BC) scored a pair, the Spruce Grove Saints defeated the Lloydminster Bobcats to continue their ten-game heater!
Thirty-seven seconds into the first period, Liam Watkins (Okotoks, AB) sniped one home to give the Saints an early lead. Two minutes after Watkins’ goal, Alexander Babich (Chicago, IL) tipped one in to put the Saints up by two. Then, just over halfway through the period, Dunne scored his first of the night to put the Saints up 3-0. A few minutes later, Keifer Miller (Banff, AB) netted one home, giving Spruce Grove a four-goal lead. With less than a minute left in the period, Ben Aucoin scored to give the Bobcats life.
Early into the second period, Ishan Mittoo scored for the Bobcats to cut the lead in half. A few minutes after Mittoos’ goal, Dunne scored his second of the night to once again put the Saints up by three. Near the end of the period, Ethan Leyer (St.Albert, AB) got a one-timer to give the Saints a 6-2 lead!
Five minutes into the final period, Ben Aucoin scored his second to bring the Bobcats within two. Then, with some four-on-four action happening halfway through, Kadyn Chabot (Cranbrook, BC) netted one home to win the game with a final score of 7-2.
The Saints marched on to defeat the Bobcats in a 7-2 conclusion and stretch their winning streak to ten games!
