With a late push in the third period, the Spruce Grove Saints dropped game three with the Bandits winning 2-1.
The first period contained one power play opportunity each for the Saints and Bandits; however, both goalies remained strong as neither team was able to capitalize.
The start of the middle frame was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams. However, just past the period’s halfway mark, Hunter Wallace opened the scoring to put the Bandits up 1-0. A few minutes later, Hughie Hooker scored to give Brooks a two-goal lead.
There was an abundance of scoring opportunities for the Saints in the final period; nevertheless, only one Saint was able to sneak the puck past Ethan Barwick. With Jameson Kaine on the bench and two minutes left in the game, Kadyn Chabot (Cranbrook, BC) scored to cut the Bandits’ lead in half.
The Spruce Grove Saints would then drop game three to the Brooks Bandits and fall 2-1 in the AJHL final series.
