BROWN HEADS EAST TO JOIN THE SAINTS

(Spruce Grove, AB) – Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced today that 2003 born forward Hunter Brown has signed a letter of intent for the 2021-2022 season.

Brown joins the Saints by way of the Cariboo Cougars U18 AAA team, based out of Prince George, B.C.

Sklaruk was excited to add Brown who had several playing options both East and West of the Rocky Mountains.

“Hunter comes to us from a successful Cougars program, he is a great skater, has good size and plays a power forward type game.” Sklaruk continued, “He is very hard to handle when the puck is on his stick with a strong, sturdy build, perfect for the deep corner work and the grind in front of the opposing net.

The 17-year-old Fort St. John B.C native posted 30 points in 39 games last season with 16 goals, 14 assists and 28 penalty minutes to his credit.

Head Coach Bram Stephen sees a utility knife type player in the Saints newest recruit.

“Hunter is a smooth skating forward who will increase the pace of our game. He goes to the hard areas and plays reliably at both ends of the ice. He is physical and will likely be a player that can be relied upon to play in all different situations in our lineup.

The Saints would like to welcome Hunter and the entire Brown family to the organization.
