(Calgary, AB) – In another tight-checking game last night, the Spruce Grove Saints bested the Calgary Canucks in a 3-2 victory!
In a relatively uneventful first period, Isaac Abbott (Halifax, NS) netted one home late to put the Saints up by one.
Fourteen minutes into the second period, Justin Barker scored for the Canucks to tie the game at one-a-piece. Soon after Barkers’ goal, Matt Corbet scored to give Calgary the lead.
Entering the third period with the Canucks leading 2-1, Ethan Kronewitt (Stony Plain, AB) scored early to tie the game up at two. Then, with just thirty-four seconds left in the game, Luigi Benincasa (Edmonton, AB) sniped one on net to score the game-winner!
The Saints marched on to win the game in a 3-2 conclusion against the Canucks.
