(Spruce Grove, AB) – Spruce Grove Saints General Manager Rob Sklaruk announced today forward Ashton Hutchinson has signed a Letter of Intent for the upcoming 2023-2024 season.
The St. Albert, Alberta native has developed this season with the St. Alberta Raiders in the Alberta Elite Hockey League (AEHL) U18 Division. Hutchinson has tallied 33 points through 34 games played (20 goals, 13 assists). The Raiders are currently in first place in the AEHL’s North Division, with a record of 25-7-2.
Hutchinson, who is listed at 5’9” and 165lbs, has played one game with the Saints this season, suiting up for the blue and yellow on December 9th, 2022 vs. the Brooks Bandits.
General Manager Rob Sklaruk spoke about signing the offensive forward, saying, “Ashton really impressed us at training camp and has continued to develop this season at the U18AAA level. Hutchinson plays a responsible game in all three zone and carries both elite offensive instincts as well as a high level of intelligence on the ice.”

The Spruce Grove Saints are currently first in the AJHL North Division, with a record of 39-7-2. The Saints are currently in the middle of a three-game home stand, taking on the Camrose Kodiaks on Friday, Feb 10th for REMAX Preferred Choice Muscular Dystrophy Night and the Canmore Eagles on Saturday, Feb 11th for Pace Technologies Minor Hockey Night.
